Bay vs Bow Windows — Which Suits Your Home?

Both project out from the wall. A bay is usually three windows: a large centre unit with an angled window on each side, so it sits deeper and makes a nook in the room.

A bow uses four or more windows of the same size in a gentle curve. It sticks out less but spreads the view wider, which suits a long wall. Which one fits depends on your wall and how far out you want it to come. We’ll show you both on your own opening at the free estimate.

Most go in a living or dining room facing the street, where the view and the curb appeal count most. A kitchen or a bedroom can work too.

They need a wall wide enough for the units and room outside for the projection. So before we recommend one, we look at the opening, what sits below it and the roofline above. If a bay won’t sit right on your wall, we’ll tell you.
