Soffit and Fascia Installation in Brantford
The Part of the Roofline Nobody Looks At Until It Fails
Soffit is the underside of the overhang; fascia is the board that runs along the edge of the roof, behind the eavestrough. Between them they close in the roofline, let the attic breathe, and give the eavestrough something solid to hang from.
Home Choice installs aluminum and vinyl soffit and matching fascia on homes across Brantford and the surrounding area, colour-matched to the rest of the exterior and usually bundled with eavestrough work.
Ventilated Eaves
Vented soffit lets air move through the attic. Without it, moisture builds up under the roof deck where you cannot see it.
Keeps Pests Out
Open or damaged soffit is an invitation. Birds, squirrels and wasps all use gaps at the eaves, and they are far easier to keep out than to remove.
Colour Matched
Soffit and fascia sit directly beside your siding and eavestrough. We match them so the roofline looks deliberate rather than patched.
What Soffit and Fascia Do for Your Roofline
These two do more work than their size suggests. Fascia carries the eavestrough and takes the weight of water and ice through the winter. Soffit closes the gap between the wall and the roof edge while still letting the attic ventilate.
Attic Ventilation
Vented soffit is how air enters the attic. Blocked or missing soffit traps moisture under the roof deck.
Structural Support
Fascia is what your eavestrough hangs from. If it has gone soft, new trough will not hold.
Signs Your Soffit or Fascia Needs Replacing
Most of this is visible from the ground on a clear day. Stand back from the house and look along the roof edge.
What to look for:
- Sagging, stained or soft fascia behind the eavestrough
- Gaps, holes or panels hanging loose at the eaves
- Birds, squirrels or wasps getting into the overhang
- Peeling paint or rot on older wood fascia
- Eavestrough pulling away from the roof edge
- Mismatched or patched sections from earlier repairs
If you are already replacing eavestrough, this is the moment to deal with the fascia behind it. Getting at it later means taking the new trough back down.
Our Soffit and Fascia Process
Straightforward work, done in a sensible order.
On-Site Assessment
We check the soffit, the fascia behind the eavestrough, and how the eaves are venting. The estimate is free and there is no pressure to decide on the spot.
Measurement and Scope
We measure the runs and confirm what actually needs replacing rather than wrapping over a problem.
Material and Colour
Aluminum or vinyl soffit, vented where it needs to be, with fascia matched to your siding, trim and eavestrough.
Installation and Cleanup
We remove the old material, install the new soffit and fascia, refit the eavestrough where it comes down, and clear the site.

I had to replace my rear patio door. I got 7 or 8 quotes from across the Norfolk/Brant/Oxford area. Peter Debono was the best bang for my buck. Custom design. Odd sizing. Used premium materials that won’t rot or rust. Low overhead so no augmented prices to service a “fat” organisation. Peter is personable. He is available when needed. He provides excellent customer service. He honoured everything he promised. The install was professional and he cleaned up before he left. I would absolutely recommend this business to anyone looking for doors or windows.Posted on Google![]()

Soffit and Fascia Questions
Why does soffit need to be vented?
Vented soffit is how air gets into the attic. Air enters low at the eaves and leaves high at the ridge, which carries moisture out before it can sit on the underside of the roof deck. Block that path, or lose it when soffit is damaged, and the moisture has nowhere to go.
Aluminum or vinyl - does it matter?
Both work. Aluminum is more rigid and holds its shape on longer runs and exposed elevations. Vinyl is lighter and generally the more economical of the two. The bigger decision is usually how much venting the eaves need, and that depends on the roof rather than the material.
Can you replace soffit and fascia without taking the eavestrough down?
The fascia is behind the eavestrough, so the trough has to come off to reach it. If your eavestrough is sound we can refit it afterwards. If it is at the end of its life anyway, doing both at once saves paying to take the same system down twice.
Will new soffit stop birds getting into the eaves?
That is one of the main reasons people call us about it. Open or damaged soffit is an easy way in for birds, squirrels and wasps, and closing the eaves in properly is considerably cheaper and less unpleasant than removing something that has already nested there.
